Our January 2024 membership meeting (Lunch and Learn) will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Environmental Education Center, 2401 Scott Boulevard SE in Iowa City (shared parking lot with the East Side Recycling Center).
Our speaker this month is Iowa City attorney Christoper Warnock. Warnock is a 1989 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. He has been a practicing attorney since 1990 and a member of the Iowa Bar Association since 2008. Warnock will discuss the Forcible Entry & Detainer process (FED’s), talk about issues with ESA (Therapy Animals), and take questions from members.
Warnock practiced as a criminal defense attorney and CJA public defender in Washington, D.C. from 1990-2005 and was counsel of record in over a dozen published opinions issued by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the highest court of the District of Columbia. Warnock is the founder of the Iowa Tenants’ Project and has been counsel in many major Iowa landlord tenant cases including:
Lunch is being catered by Catering by Charlotte, who is going to be our primary food provider for our lunch and learns for the this year. Catering by Charlotte will be offering a rotating selection of lunch items for each meeting.

Price is $15.00 for lunch in person (cash or check) or $15.50 if you pay online when you register (to cover the online payment fee from our website payment processor). There is a limit of 40 registrations available, as seating is limited at this location. If you do not register and still want to attend, you may have to stand during the presentation and food will not be provided.
