Our June membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:30 am at the East Side Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd. SE in Iowa City.
This month’s speakers are Patty Hansche, First VP of Treasury Management at Hills Bank and Rachel Carter, Housing Administrator with the City of Iowa City Neighborhood Services Department.
GICAA will be providing lunch of BBQ pork or chicken, baked beans, mac & cheese and cornbread from Mosley’s for the meeting. Members can also substitute a portobello burger. Please RSVP by Friday June 23 at 5pm either at the GICAA website or to apartmentassoc@gmail.com with the number of individuals from your organization who will be attending and if you would like the portobello burger instead of meat. Patty Hansche has 19 years’ experience working with Hills Bank and Property Management companies. She will be speaking about banking services that can assist Property Management companies with efficiency and fraud mitigation. Rachel Carter will be speaking about the Housing Choice Voucher Program and how the Iowa City Housing Authority can work collaboratively with landlords in the community. She is the administrator for the Housing Authority; she oversees the utilization of 1568 Housing Choice Vouchers, a homeownership program, a Family Self-sufficiency Program, 86 Public Housing units, and approximately 20 affordable units in Iowa City. Carter came to this role last September after approximately 10 years at a local nonprofit managing a large housing program for veterans experiencing homelessness.
